The technology used by bank is most widely used method for securing internet transactions. As a customer you have to take few precautions as a security measure to operate your internet account. These precautions are:
- Always log off after completing your transactions by using Log out button. Do not close your session by closing the browser.
- It is better to use private or dedicated computer for online banking. As for as possible avoid using shared computer or cyber café.
- To monitor your account log on regularly. The system will provide about the last log on date and time which will be useful for your monitoring and your last log on to the site can be verified.
- Update your PC with latest patches. PC should be uploaded with latest version of anti virus. It is better to use anti spy ware and personal firewall.
- Always keep password confidential. Avoid using those types of password which can be easily guessed. It is better not to you use your name, date of birth as your password. Change the password regularly.

- The pop up windows always ask your confidential information such as account number, PIN, Password etc. Always beware of same.
- Whenever the Bank sends any mail to customer it will have information about products and services. The Bank will never ask any sensitive information like account number, Credit card/Debit card number, ATM PIN etc. from you. Thus if you receive any mail asking these information then do not response it. There is a possibility that these types of fraudulent e-mail may contain a link which look-alike website as the bank has, to mislead you.
- Phishing is a fraudulent use of internet services. It is posed that mail is generated by a trusted organisation. Actually they send thousands fraudulent e-mails to many e-mail addresses randomly and requesting to provide the information about your accounts, PIN etc. Be careful and beware of Phishing.
- Never entertain the mail received from invalid e-mail account. Do not open these mails and delete it. Always scan e-mail attachments for viruses and if you are ensure that source of attachment is not correct delete it.
